We have recently launched a 6.2 meter sport fishing boat for local owners on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. Size was a consideration as the vessel has to be easily trailered and also towed by a larger power boat when they go cruising. Electronics are Raymarine E series 12" monitor with digital sounder and digital 24nm radar, Raystar Gps and Ray 55 VHF radio. An AM/FM CD player was also fitted.
The cabin is heated with a Dickinson Newport propane stove. A cabinet with sink and pressure water system is fitted behind the passenger seat, and a third seat with a portable toilet is fitted behind the helm seat.
A 150hp Yamaha four stroke outboard gives a maximum speed of 35 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of 25 knots at 4000 rpm. At this speed the fuel consumption of 3.4 nm/US gallon. Auxilliary power is by a 9.9hp Yamaha four stroke outboard which is remotely steered by a Trol-Ez hydraulic steering. Although primarily intended for trolling, this power will produce 4.5 knots for get you home capability.
